TK (Transitional Kindergarten) at Valley Charter Elementary School

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) at Valley Charter Elementary School is taught by a fully credentialed teacher and is designed to serve as a developmentally appropriate bridge between preschool and kindergarten. Our program places a strong emphasis on social-emotional growth, helping students learn to develop and maintain positive relationships, identify and manage emotions, focus attention, and navigate social conflict. Throughout the year, students also build independence, learn to cooperate with peers, and become familiar with school routines and expectations. TK teachers create meaningful connections across subject areas, providing integrated educational experiences that support both personal development and foundational academic skills.

Who Is Eligible for TK in 2025–26?
Students born between September 2, 2020 - September 1, 2021 are eligible for VCES TK in the 2025-26 school year.
Why Families Choose TK at Valley Charter Elementary School
"I can’t imagine a better transitional kindergarten than we have at VCES. The approach is with care and compassion. My granddaughter looked forward to school every day and loved it. The program absolutely delivered by preparing Maji for Kindergarten. Because of fundamentals explored in TK she loves learning — especially math and reading."
-Marla, VCES grandparent
