Experience more than just a meal!

Explore new possibilities with the California Universal Meals Program at

Valley Charter Elementary and Valley Charter Middle School!

Universal Lunch Program

VCS offers free breakfast and lunch to all students, regardless of income, with no need for parents to place orders. Meals are provided daily upon request. As part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) federal program, schools collect household income information through the Alternative Income Form instead of lunch applications.

Our goal is 100% participation. Completing your lunch application opens the doors to various scholarships (ex. ELOP & Jaxx for VCES), S-EBT, and CalKIDS. WE URGE YOU TO COMPLETE AN INCOME FORM, as it is vital for securing essential funding through the Local Control Funding Formula.

Two ways to apply:
  • Online: Visit this website to submit your income form online. When prompted, enter the VCS school code:
    • VCES school ID 2165
    • VCMS school ID 5185
  • Paper: If you prefer a paper application, you can request one from the school office.  Applications are available in English and Spanish.

If you have any questions regarding the lunch application or income form, please contact Carolina Merino, director of operations at VCS, at 818-810-6713 or via email.

Medical Statement: Accommodations for Students with Special Needs

If a texture modification is needed due to a disability, the parent may contact the school and request a special meal by completing the Medical Statement to Request Special Meals and/or Accommodations form (see below). The request must be supported by a medical statement signed by a state-licensed healthcare professional (e.g., licensed physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner). A child with a disability is entitled to receive a special meal at no additional cost if the disability prevents them from eating the standard meal. Our food provider offers vegetarian, dairy-free, and gluten-free options.

Parents may also visit the school offices for paper copies of the forms.
