Thank you for visiting Valley Charter Schools! We are a public independent charter organization founded in 2010 and have two small schools- Valley Charter Elementary and Valley Charter Middle - both with an enrollment of under 300 students. Our community is intentionally small and diverse by design; our students learn in a warm, supportive environment that reflects the rich diversity of the San Fernando Valley and the wider world.

At VCS, we believe that students learn best when they engage in meaningful and rigorous project-based learning and develop the academic and social-emotional tools to thrive. Our students are effective communicators, collaborators, self-advocates, and life-long learners. When you step into a VCS classroom, you can feel the joy, the connections, and the curiosity!

When students matriculate from VCS, they are well-prepared for their next level of schooling. While test scores are not our only way of measuring our positive impact on students, VCS schools routinely outperform the neighborhood schools our students might otherwise attend on annual state assessments. Our focus on the individual child supports each student’s growth, progress, and achievement.

Summer & Back-to-School Info for VCS Families

☀️ Summer Playdates: Connect with classmates and families before school starts. Check your grade-level event and RSVP today!
VCES "Meet the Teachers": August 11, 3:30–5:00pm
VCMS Orientation: August 12 (time TBD)
First Day of School: August 13
School offices are closed the week of July 4th.

Last Day of School is June 5th!

VCMS 8th Grade Culmination: June 4th

VCES 5th Grade Culmination: June 3rd

Finance Committee Meeting - link to agenda and meeting location

The VCS finance committee meeting will be held on May 15th, 2025 at 6:15pm
*Please note that all Finance Committee meetings are again in-person and members of the public must join from one of the school sites. The Finance Committee will be meeting at 14646 Sherman Way (current 6th grade site).
Just cause exemption: Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, one finance committee member will be joining the finance committee meeting remotely via zoom due to a childcare need. Other participants can join via zoom: Join Zoom Meeting
