As a constructivist, project-based, diverse-by-design school, we open our doors to all types of learners and support students in all aspects of their academic, social, and emotional growth. Each aspect of our program is guided by our charter’s design elements and supports our students in mastering standards and becoming effective communicators, collaborators, and self-advocates. Our goal is to prepare students to engage with the world around them while preparing our students to be ready for high school, college and beyond.

In addition to the uniqueness of our academic model, we set out to maintain small class sizes, to build strong, positive relationships with our students and parents, all while fostering a safe, welcoming learning environment for all students. This is what sets Valley Charter Middle School apart from other middle schools. Getting to know our students as individuals allows us to support our students’ academic, social, and emotional growth; as we all know, this is especially important during these crucial middle school years.

As a result of all of this work, Valley Charter School has won the LA Daily News’ Readers Favorite Charter School award for the second year in a row.

To support all of this important work, each year we launch our Annual Giving Campaign; this is one of three fundraising campaigns throughout the school year. In the fall we kick off our Annual Giving Campaign, in the winter we host our Family Game Night, and in the spring we launch our Color FundRacer event. Each fundraiser is designed to support our school needs with every dollar raised while supporting our school community with an event or experience embedded into each fundraiser.

In order to support each of our students’ needs and our program as a whole, VCMS calls on you, our VCMS families, for your generous support! Our Annual Giving Campaign is the time of year we will ask parents to make a monetary donation in the amount that is most meaningful and possible for you and your family. Similar to every other aspect of raising a child, it takes a village to meet the needs of a child and raising monetary donations to support the needs of our students is no different; it takes a village. Simply put, every bit helps and we need the support of all of our families!

Our 2023 Annual Giving Campaign begins on October 26th and culminates with the AGC Talent Show on December 8th.

This year our Annual Giving Campaign monetary goal is $30,000 and our participation goal is 100%.

As a community we hope to raise $30,000 while asking that 100% of our VCMS community get involved and make a monetary donation to VCMS, Your donation will help us bridge the gap between what governmental funds contribute to schools and what it actually takes to provide the Valley Charter experience to each of our students.

All 23-24 AGC money raised will go to funding our:

Campus security (one security guard at each site)

After school sports program (including uniforms, league fees, coaches, and equipment)

Grad Nite field trip for 8th grade

Please help us bring this goal to fruition by donating online by visiting supportvalleycharter.org, or by dropping off a cash or check donation in the school office. We realize each family circumstance is unique and that not all families can donate the same amount. But our hope and ask is that each of our families can participate by donating whatever amount is meaningful and possible for your household. Please consider starting a recurring monthly donation ($83/month = $1000 per year, click here to learn how to set up a recurring payment) through the donation website. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of corporate matching, if possible. Any dollar amount is greatly appreciated and each donation makes a HUGE difference to our school community. All donations are 100% tax deductible.

As a community we have demonstrated time and again that we can come together on behalf of our students. Because of this we know we will come together to reach our goals of $30,000 raised and 100% community participation.

Together we will ensure VCMS remains a special place to learn and grow.
