Mission & Vision

Our Mission

The mission of Valley Charter Schools is to provide a holistic and exceptional education to a diverse student body, cultivating in students intellectual curiosity, collaboration, respect for others, and a passion for excellence.

Our Vision

The purpose of Valley Charter Schools is to enable students to become thinking, fulfilled, caring individuals with a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse society in which we live. We believe all children deserve a meaningful education that helps them to realize potential and discover unique talents and gifts. We believe learning happens best when students work across disciplines, solve new problems, work in teams, take initiative, and take responsible risks. At VCS, teachers, not textbooks, know students best. Our teachers and teacher collaborations drive instruction. We strive to develop and communicate best practices and mentor others as we have been mentored. We believe communities can come together to build great schools where academic excellence is available to all children.

A Teacher and Parent Reflects on the VCS Mission in Action

"As both a 2nd grade teacher at VCES and a parent to Sam, a Valley Charter alum who attended from kindergartenvalley charter school anne aronchick testimonial pic through 8th grade, I can confidently say that much of Sam’s success in high school is due to the strong foundation he built here. I had the unique privilege of witnessing his K-8 journey, where he was nurtured, cared for, and most importantly, taught how to think critically. His success reflects the exceptional teaching and individualized attention that Valley Charter educators provide to every student. VCS equipped Sam with the skills to become an independent thinker, and now, in high school, his teachers consistently praise him for his depth of thought and active participation. I am deeply grateful for the experiences that shaped him—ranging from engaging classroom learning to field trips that enriched his PBL projects in social studies and science."
