VCMS Families: Note about safe and expected arrival procedures at Van Nuys Boulevard
As of now, we have been allowing our families to drive through the carpool lane and also drop students off in the loading zone on Van Nuys Boulevard. However, we need the following to take place in order to continue to allow the drop-off in the loading zone in front of the school, as current practices are not safe:
- Pull all the way up to the car ahead of you; do not take up more than one parking space
- Do not idle or wait, either before or after your child is dropped off
- Do not block the driveway of the carpool lane
- Do not drop your students off in front of the housing authority or between the housing authority and the driveway of the carpool lane
- Do not let your child out of your car unless you are fully pulled up to the curb
Unfortunately, if the above does not occur, we will need to block off the loading zone with cones each morning.
Familias de VCMS: Nota sobre los procedimientos de llegada seguros y esperados en Van Nuys Boulevard
Hasta ahora, hemos permitido que nuestras familias pasen por el carril de carpool y también dejen a los estudiantes en la zona de carga en Van Nuys Boulevard. Sin embargo, necesitamos que se lleven a cabo las siguientes medidas para poder continuar permitiendo dejar estudiantes en la zona de carga frente a la escuela, ya que las prácticas actuales no son seguras:
- Avance completamente hasta el auto que está adelante; no ocupe más de un espacio de estacionamiento
- No se quede con el motor encendido esperando, ni antes ni después de dejar a su hijo/a
- No bloquee la entrada del carril de carpool
- No deje a sus estudiantes frente a la autoridad de vivienda o entre la autoridad de vivienda y la entrada del carril de carpool
- No deje que su hijo/a salga del auto a menos que esté completamente pegado a la banqueta
Desafortunadamente, si lo anterior no ocurre, necesitaremos bloquear la zona de carga con conos cada mañana.
