Dear VCS families,
We are relieved to be able to reopen and excited to welcome our students back to school on Monday, January 13th.
While we will be sensitive to the social-emotional needs of all of our students as we collectively process this trauma for our city, if your family has been directly impacted by the fires, please let us know so that we can be extra sensitive to and vigilant about your child’s social-emotional needs at this time.
A few health and safety notes:
- VCES and VCMS were cleaned over the weekend and are ready to welcome back students.
- We will be paying close attention to air quality and keeping students inside for lunch and recess, as needed.
- We will be running air filters in all offices and classrooms.
- If you are concerned about air quality, please send your child with a mask or send them to the office, where we can provide a mask for them.
Regarding any independent study assignments completed:
- Elementary students should turn in any independent study assignments by placing them in their homework folder.
- Middle school student work was primarily turned in electronically, but if your child has any additional assignments to turn in, they should provide them to their teacher.

Queridas familias de VCS,
Nos sentimos aliviados de poder reabrir y emocionados de dar la bienvenida a nuestros estudiantes de regreso a la escuela el lunes 13 de enero.
Aunque seremos sensibles a las necesidades socioemocionales de todos nuestros estudiantes mientras procesamos colectivamente este trauma para nuestra ciudad, si su familia ha sido impactada directamente por los incendios, por favor infórmenos para que podamos ser especialmente atentos y vigilantes con las necesidades socioemocionales de su hijo/a en este momento.
Algunas notas de salud y seguridad:
- VCES y VCMS fueron limpiadas durante el fin de semana y están listas para recibir nuevamente a los estudiantes.
- Prestaremos mucha atención a la calidad del aire y mantendremos a los estudiantes dentro durante el almuerzo y el recreo, según sea necesario.
- Usaremos filtros de aire as oficinas y salones de clases.
- Si le preocupa la calidad del aire, puede enviar a su hijo/a con una mascarilla o enviarlo/a a la oficina, donde podemos proporcionarle una mascarilla.
Con respecto a las tareas de estudio independiente completadas:
- Los estudiantes de primaria deben entregar sus tareas de estudio independiente colocándolas en su carpeta de tareas.
- El trabajo de los estudiantes de secundaria se entregó principalmente de manera electrónica, pero si su hijo/a tiene tareas adicionales para entregar, deben entregarlas a su maestro/a.
