VCMS Color FUNDracer fundraising campaign: April 29th-May 30th, 2024

WHAT IS THE VCMS COLOR FUNDRACER?

The Color FUNDracer is a 30 minute "race" at our Van Nuys Blvd site on March 23rd, 2023 (3/23/23!)

that culminates three weeks of fundraising. Students can run or walk and volunteer parents and staff will be stationed along the race course at water stations and color splashing stations. The Color FUNDracer will be chip-timed again this year so students can check the number of laps they completed and the splits for each one! Each VCMS student will receive a race shirt and a bib to wear during the run.

Parents are encouraged to attend the race as spectators and volunteers. Click here for the parent volunteer sign up form. We need parents to help pass out race shirts, pin race bibs on students, manage the water stations during the race, splash students with color during the race, and donate water and post-race snack items.

WHAT IS OUR SCHOOL FUNDRAISING GOAL?

Our school fundraising goal is $25,000 and 100% student fundraising participation at any level.

HOW CAN STUDENTS FUNDRAISE?

Color FUNDracer fundraising begins on March 2nd. Students will be asked to fundraise for three weeks leading up to the race event. Ask your friends, family and neighbors to donate $10, $15, $20 or MORE to your student's fundraising efforts!

$100 total student fundraising = 10 $10 donations!
$200 total student fundraising = 20 $10 donations!
$500 total student fundraising = 10 $50 donations!

Each student has a unique fundraising page on the Color Run donation site. This link will be shared with each student and parent/guardian through email on March 2nd. Please email Rebecca Avery if you have questions about how to access your student's donation page.

Student and parents can customize the page with pictures and videos and share the link with family and friends through email and on their social media accounts.

CAN STUDENTS COLLECT CASH AND CHECK DONATIONS IN ADDITION TO, OR INSTEAD OF, FUNDRAISING ONLINE?

Students can also collect cash and check donations. Each student will be given a large envelope with tracking information for these donations that can be turned into the school office during the three weeks of fundraising, or on the day of the race, March 23rd.

WHAT DOES COLOR FUNDRACER FUNDRAISING SUPPORT?

100% of the donations will help to fund:

technology enhancements
field trips
8th grade culmination activities
assistant teachers
upgrades to our campus

CAN STUDENTS WIN PRIZES FOR FUNDRAISING?

There are prizes for the students who raise the most money in the school overall.

Every advisory class with 100% participation will win a prize.
Every grade level with 100% participation will win a prize.
Top fundraisers will win a prize.
Top racers will win a prize.
EVERY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE a COLOR FUNDracer T-SHIRT to wear during the race!

DAY-OF-EVENT SCHEDULE:

11:45: Parent volunteers and spectators arrive on campus

12:30: Welcome, announcements and color packet toss

12:45: Race begins

1:15: Race ends

1:15-1:30: Post-race snack and stretching

1:30: Dismissal

Please note: parents will not be able to park on campus on race day. If you plan to attend, please park in the neighborhood behind the school and walk onto campus.

WHY COLOR?

VCMS students will be splashed with colored powder while they run. The powder does not stain and is non-toxic. EVERY STUDENT WILL RECEIVE a COLOR FUNDracer T-SHIRT to wear during the race!
